Samuel Cedars Outdoor Chapel
Samuel Cedars is a lovely, outdoor/indoor, wedding chapel located in Rogersville, Missouri. I recently had the chance to photograph a wedding at Samuel Cedars and was very impressed with the beauty of the grounds there. The grounds are well manicured and feature plenty of opportunities for lovely wedding photos. A large, open, area for seating sits in front of the gazebo where the officiant and bride and groom stand. Directly behind the gazebo is a waterfall with beautifully tended flower beds around it. It really provides for a gorgeous backdrop to the ceremony. Samuel Cedars also has a large, steel building on site that for the purposes of this wedding acted as the reception hall, as well as providing the wedding party a place to get ready. If inclement weather were to strike, it could also serve as the chapel itself, I’m sure.
Chasity & David’s Ceremony At Samuel Cedars
Chasity and David were a fantastic young couple. Chasity and I had met back in September to go over the details of their wedding photography and the three of us had met up in Springfield, Missouri to snap some engagement photos shortly afterwards. I arrived at Samuel Cedars just a tad early, as is my norm(If you’re not early, you’re late my Dad always said) and found the bride and her party in the process of getting ready. Chasity had some great bridesmaids, they were all easy going and fun to be around, which always makes my job as wedding photographer so much easier! I began snapping candid shots of the girls putting on their make up and fixing their hair, as well as shots of the reception area which had already been staged with table settings and decorations. Before too long, David and the groomsman arrived and we went about getting shots of them helping one another with ties and goofing around. As the girls continued getting ready, the guys and I went outside to partake in some of that natural beauty of Samuel Cedars I was talking about and grab some formal shots. David and his boys went with the “Super Hero Reveal” that has become quite popular. It makes for a fun time as who doesn’t want to be a super hero for a while!?! Once we were finished, we hid David and brought Chasity and the ladies out for their formals as well as knocking out some shots with family so that we wouldn’t have to do them all before the reception. Again Samuel Cedars showed it’s beauty with a nice, rustic looking, fence that made for a great backdrop.
A Hot Day At Samuel Cedars
It was quite warm on this particular June day and, as you can imagine, the wedding party was bearing the brunt of the heat in their formal wear. The officiant did a great job in keeping the ceremony short but sweet, much to the delight of the attendees! But, though brief, the ceremony was quite lovely and the natural ambience of Samuel Cedars really made for a great setting. As the guests filtered back up the path towards the reception hall, Chasity and David and I stayed behind for a few formals before meeting up with extended family for group shots. With all of the posed photos in the bag, it was time to enjoy the reception!
Reception At Samuel Cedars
The cool reception hall was very inviting after the heat of the day had beat down upon us. After a brief period of mingling and lunch, it was time for toasts to be made, followed by the cutting of the cake. I spoke with the DJ on hand and learned that he works solely for Samuel Cedars. I don’t know if this is included in the package they offer or not, but I will say he was very good at his job and, if you are considering Samuel Cedars as your wedding venue, you should inquire. Very helpful was he in wrangling guests for photos, as well as his duties in leading dances, getting everybody excited for the “dollar dance”, etc. All in all it was a great ceremony and I thank Chasity and David for choosing Model Citizens Photography for their wedding photography needs, and I look forward to shooting at Samuel Cedars again in the future!
